Eriodictyon californicum
A sticky-leaved Californian plant used by Indigenous Californian peoples for the lungs and breath.
Traditional use
Brewed or smoked for chest congestion, coughs, and asthma; leaves chewed for sore throat.
How to prepare
1 tsp dried leaves per cup, just-boiled water, steep 10 minutes. Strong, slightly bitter taste โ sweetens with honey.
