โ˜… Signature remedy

Cornus mas

Tart red berries from the dogwood, ripe in late summer and dried or cooked into syrup.

Traditional use

Made into a tart syrup for children's upset stomachs and to gently lower fever. The dried berries make a vitamin-C-rich tea in winter.

How to prepare

Simmer 2 tbsp dried berries in 3 cups water for 15 minutes; sweeten lightly. Drink warm.

Safety notes

Very gentle. Reduce if it loosens stools.
